Basic Eligibility Requirements:
- Applied to, or be currently enrolled in a part-time or full-time retail or business-
related, post-secondary program of study
- Retail experience on at least a part-time basis, either at the time of the
scholarship application or during the student's summer or co-op break from full-
time studies

- Proof of enrolment or application to a retail or business-related program,
including an official description
- Reference letter from a person familiar with the applicant's academic or
workplace abilities (for example: teacher, guidance counsellor, co-worker or

should be awarded the scholarship, and how he or she has demonstrated a
commitment to the retail industry
- A typed, 500-word essay. The essay should outline the applicant's scholastic or
work-place achievements. It should also explain the applicant's reason for
pursuing a retail-related or business-related program and his or her thoughts
about a career in the retail industry
- High school transcript
- Current employer contact information, on a separate page, including: contact
name, company name, address, and telephone number
- The application package must also include a completed application form and the

- The invitation to apply for the Variety Leadership in the Community Scholarship
is being distributed to Manitoba Principals and Guidance Counsellors. Only one

demonstrating the applicant’s community leadership

including one educator and one volunteer supervisor
