(3.3 GPA) average and must maintain the qualities of character, leadership and
service upon which the scholarship was awarded

THE ARTHUR PALIN AUTOMOTIVE AFTERMARKET SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Basic Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be enrolled in an automotive aftermarket industry related
program or curriculum at a Canadian college or university
- This includes students pursuing their studies as an automotive apprentice. It
also includes studies in any of the following automotive sectors: auto body,
hard parts, heavy duty, or motive power (machinists)
Special Documents/Submissions/Requirements:
- A letter from the applicant stating his/her long-term automotive goals. The
applicant's letter should briefly outline why they believe they should be
considered for this scholarship. It may include a summary of past school and
work experience
- A letter from the applicant's primary automotive instructor stating why the
instructor feels the scholarship applicant is worthy of receiving the award
- A copy of the scholarship applicant's most recent academic record should be
included. Overall academic achievements, as well as achievements specifically
related to the automotive sector, should be included.
- A brief outline of the scholarship applicant's demonstrated leadership and civic
abilities. These abilities do not necessarily have to be automotive related, but
should be evident in the applicant's interactions in their school or community
environments.
- An outline of financial considerations as they relate to the student's pursuit of
their automotive studies. The scholarship applicant's degree of need should be
clearly demonstrated. Other scholarship or awards won by the applicant should
be noted, as well as the applicant's ability to continue his/her studies based on
financial considerations

WINNIPEG YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

Basic Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must have participated for three or more years in programs
sanctioned by the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association, and must be currently
participating in some capacity in soccer, within the association
- Must be enrolling in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution
- Candidate must have a proficiency in soccer as indicated by their play, or have
shown worthwhile contributions, as judged by the Scholarship Committee in
refereeing, coaching, or administration of the game of soccer
- Candidate must demonstrate good citizenship, character and leadership
Special Documents/Submissions/Requirements:
- A letter from the Principal or Post Secondary Administrator certifying the
candidate’s age, character, ability and participation in school activities
- A final transcript of the student’s marks for grades 10, 11, 12 or a certified
photocopy of the Permanent Record Card. If neither is available a typed copy
of the Permanent Record Card verified by the Principal’s or Post Secondary
Administrator’s signature will be accepted.
- A letter from the Coach, Manager, or League Executive indicating the
candidate’s character, leadership, and participation, as well as information
regarding the candidate’s soccer ability or contribution to refereeing, coaching,
or administrative involvement
- An essay written by the candidate with a maximum of 750 words. For more
