Records may be released only to the student.

Staff need prior notice so that records can be retrieved. To request your student records, please call ahead (204-788-0203, x144) or e-mail wsdstudentrecords @ wsd1.org (without the spaces). Records must be picked up in person at 1075 Wellington Avenue. Because of the confidential nature of the documents, 2 pieces of identification, one with a photo, will need to be presented.

If you cannot pick up your records in person, send a letter of release (sample/template available in PDF or MS Word) including the following information:

student's full name plus any variations or nicknames that might have appeared on school records;
student's name at present, if different from above;
student's date of birth;
last school attended in the Winnipeg School Division;
address to which records may be sent;
student's signature

The release may also be sent as an e-mail attachment; however, it must be printed and scanned in order to transmit the student's signature. E-mail the attachment to wsdstudentrecords@wsd1.org.

Records cannot be released until this written and signed request has been received.

Access to Classroom Registers

Contact the Provincial Archives of Manitoba to view classroom registers up to and including the 1967/68 school year.

Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Please call ahead (204-945-3971) to ensure that registers are available and on site at the time of the visit.
