teacher and studentWe are proud to offer educational programs and related services to approximately 34,000 students from Nursery to Grade 12, in regular elementary and secondary classes, alternative, advanced and language programs. We also have a wide variety of programming in place for students with special education and behavioural needs. We are committed to life-long learning and offer programs that allow adults to continue to learn and enrich their lives, and adolescent parents to succeed as parents and learners. New Canadians and students and families from a variety of diverse cultures are also supported with programs to help ensure success in our schools and communities. Student wellness and development is another priority that is evident in programming such as school therapy and counselling services.

Adolescent parenting Academic and counseling support for parenting and pregnant students through junior and senior high years.

 

Adult Education Opportunity and support for adult students to enrich their lives and develop English language skills and an understanding of Canadian society.

 

Advanced Academic Programming for exceptional students in junior and senior high school.

 

Alternative Education Programming for multi-aged groupings with student-centred, activity-based thematic learning as well as specialized programming for aboriginal students.

Assessment An overview of the Division's assessment programs including CAP and Grade 8 exam.

 

Behavioural Academic Intervention program for students exhibiting in in appropriate behaviour or social skills. 

 

Counselling Counselling services are available to identify and respond to students in need of special help or services. 

 

Early School Years An enriched education environment for children in nursery and kindergarten

 

English as an Additional Language (EAL) (Formerly ESL) Programming for non-English speaking students to gain suffient English language skills.

 

English Language Arts Diagnostic and/or reading intervention programming available to students experiencing difficulty in various areas of English language arts. Includes information about the Diagnostic Learning Centre and Reading Recovery programs.

 

Interdivisional Student Services  A provincially funded service that provides a variety of support programs for students who are clients/patients of various facilities.

 

Langages The division offers a rich array of language programs in French, English-Ukrainian Bilingual, English-Hebrew Bilingual and Heritage Languages Multiculturalism Multicultural enrichment and programming support for immigrant students. 

 

Student Wellness and Development Family Life and School to Work Transition programming as well as information on nutrition and more for students. 

 

School Therapy Services  Physiotherapy and occupational therapy support services in schools for handicapped students. 

 

Special Education A broad range of programming available to meet the diverse special education needs of students in the Division. 

 

Summer Session Academic programming for Junior and Senior High students as well as students enrolled in English as an Additional Language programs.
