Technology PlanningLocal Area Network Upgrades
At the meeting held on March 21, 2000, the Board of Trustees approved the 5 Year Technology Integration Plan (2000/2001 to 2004/2005). A key component of the 5 year Technology Integration Plan included a four year local area network cabling upgrade program in all local area networks in schools and administrative buildings. The 2003/2004 school year was the fourth and final year of the 4 year local area network upgrading initiative. The goal of the school-wide local area network infrastructure improvement project was to build a solid local area network infrastructure designed to support each school's immediate and long term technology requirements. The resulting local area network configuration will allow for an appropriate number of network connections and sufficient throughput to support the school's immediate and long term instructional and administration utilization of technology.
