Central District
Celia Caetano-Gomes - Superintendent of Schools
The Central District has twelve Nursery to Grade 6 schools, two of which are English Program / French Immersion dual track schools. There is also a French milieu school, Sacre-Coeur, which provides programming in French from Nursery to Grade 8, as well as three additional Nursery to Grade 8 schools. There is one Junior & Senior High School and three Senior High Schools including the Adolescent Parent Centre and Winnipeg Adult Education Centre.
The Adult English as an Additional Language (EAL) program and the Adolescent Parent Centre fall under the jurisdiction of the Winnipeg Adult Education Centre. The Central District also assumes responsibility for Interdivisional Student Services which oversees education programs in institutions like Health Sciences Centre and Villa Rosa, the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Program, the Diagnostic Learning Centres and tutoring services.
